The Soundtrack of My Life
Via Republic of T
Set your IPOD or MP3 player to random play. What are the first ten songs? My list is here:
- Clocks - Coldplay
- Life During Wartime - Talking Heads
- You Dropped a Bomb on Me - Gap Band
- Temperature Rising - Les Nubians
- Close Behind - Calexico
- The Bends - Radiohead
- Rate Race - The Specials
- Carolyn's Fingers - Cocteau Twins
- See How We Are - X
- Beetlebum - Blur
The Cocteau Twins and the Specials--I didn't know they had music like that in America! I haven't listened to the Cocteau Twins in 10 years. The iPod is great for encouraging you to revisit the old stuff.

Well, I'm a big weirdo. Don't think that most of America listens to what I do.

My 16 year old son made a CD for me to listen to on the drive home last time I dropped him off after a visit with me up here (he and my daughter live many states away - a case of divorce shrapnel). That CD is the one I put on most often when listening to tunes while working, or knowing I will be writing for a long period of time and not answering the phone.
The CD is songs he knows I like, some I'd asked for (Clocks and Times Like This) and other tunes he figured I'd enjoy. He was absolutely right, 100%!!
Coldplay - Clocks
Coldplay - The Scientist
Foo Fighters - Times Like This
Keller Williams - One Hit Wonder
String Cheese Incident - Texas
Keller Williams - Freeker By The Speaker
Phish - It's Ice
Phish - Birds of a Feather
Phish - Funky Bitch
Phish - The Landlady
Phish & Ani deFranco - Stash
Phish - Llama
