A Blogosphere Prediction
Set your watches. Sometime in the next 72 hours, Danny Bonaduce of the blogosphere Blogaduce will comment on the "women and blogging" issue.
UPDATE: Okay, just because Chris jumped into the fray before Danny doesn't mean that Danny won't be joining the chorus real soon. Just give it time. Here's my fav bit from Chris [emphasis mine]:
Again, there are truckloads of excellent female political bloggers out there and I'm listening to Ani DiFranco as I type this (true, actually -- her new cd has been pretty constant in my iTunes). My point isn't to malign nor offend them, but to wonder what accounts for the comparative difference. My end, here, is that I want even more truckloads of excellent female political bloggers to read.
The part in bold could be translated to say, "I'm listening to Ray Charles and I loves da black folks."
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: Snark aside, at least Ezra's trying.

Marry me.

If we're lucky, Matt will read all our anti-Drum posts and chicken out.
On the other hand, perhaps he'll helpfully explain that women rank low in the blogosphere because we aren't funny.

In the words of The Sparks:
I PREDICT Matty will wake up from a fitful sleep at about 3 in the morning and do the post you talked about, and the Queen is a man. I PREDICT.

Ah! I was hoping for the bit about the chow mein!
Posted by: Roxanne | 22 February 2005 at 23:38
Yeah, but then you'd be hungry real soon.

Who's Danny Bonaduce? I wanna get the joke!
Posted by: Julie | 23 February 2005 at 01:20
Oh my god...
Did you read this post?
This is like... I don't know, Hubert Humphrey quoting "I Wanna Be Sedated," then explaining that while the song understates the wonderful number of things to do and places to go in this great country, he still loves those kooky kids.

Oh Alex, I haven't had enough coffee yet. But that post is Platonic.
Short Matt Yglesias: I like Le Tigre (so fuck me), but I must make it clear before I spend an hour of my time listening to them play that I am smarter than any of them.
Posted by: Amanda | 23 February 2005 at 09:09
Oh man that made me laugh. I think that Danny Bonaduce thing could stick to Yglesias...
Posted by: PSoTD | 23 February 2005 at 10:59
Then I'd better add that (TM) quickly before he steals it.
Posted by: Roxanne | 23 February 2005 at 11:05
Oh, Jeebus... The Danny Bonaduce of the Blogosphere? ROFLMAO!!! Bonaduce would squoosh Yglesias like a bug.

Oh, it'll stick. Is "Danny Blogaduce" too far afield?
Posted by: eRobin | 23 February 2005 at 14:54
Perfect. Now, if I only knew the html for the strikethrough, I would change the post.

LOL - Okay, I tried but the post ate the code. It's s closed with a backslash s - in the brackets that you use to write HTML

Wrong person.
Posted by: Lauren | 23 February 2005 at 16:03
I'm staying far the fuck away from this. Ezra is already miffed at me for calling him vain on my blog, though I meant it in a good way.
Posted by: Amanda | 23 February 2005 at 16:13
I gave into the urge and left some snark skidmarks on Danny B's post picking on Le Tigre.
Posted by: Amanda | 23 February 2005 at 16:24
it was overtly an "I listen to Ray Charles so I love the balck folk" joke, and I made the mistake of adding a serious aside. Sigh -- I will not make unclear jokes in the future.
Posted by: Ezra | 23 February 2005 at 16:35
Are we at the bargaining stage yet? ;) Snark aside too, he does sound sincere, and I'm curious to see how all this turns out in the long run.
Posted by: Trish Wilson | 23 February 2005 at 17:13
I'm glad women aren't as funny as men. For Ezra's and Matt's sake.
Posted by: Eli | 23 February 2005 at 17:47
Why do you have to be such a bitch? Yglesias is always posting about women's issues.
He's right, too. You're not funny. You're pathetic!

This one is close. I sense he is working his way up to it.

I'm still trying to figure out who the Keith, Laurie and Tracy of the blogosphere are. :)
(Can I be the Shirley of the blogosphere?)
