I'm full of enough outrage at 4th amendment violations that happen daily via The Drug War and DUI hunting.
Go ahead, investigate this, that's fine. But I can't pretend that it's unique or unprecedented. And I don't mean since 2001 either.

I just printed out my application for Irish citizenship because of things just like this.
