The Great Debaters [sic]

Something occurred to me as I was watching tonight's Democratic primary debate. Something that's probably fairly obvious. Especially, I imagine, to trial lawyers.

Obama is LDing it, while Clinton is CXing it. Edwards switches back and forth. And that's why, sometimes, it seems like the three of them are talking past each other. Not that I have any delusions that what passes these days for debate is actual "debate."

For the record, I started out as a CXer. But since my one liners were better than my research (nothing's changed), I was strongly encouraged to switch to LD.

Edwards keeps winning these debates. But it's probably to late.

Having judged S&D, I know exactly what you're talking about. I'll have to actually watch one of those things, I suppose, but I suspect you're right.

I'm very sorry you've had to judge S&D ...especially if it was high school interp. I've seen badly interp'd scenes from Agnes of God and Plaza Suite a gajillion times.
